Job Summary:
Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care is seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Helper / Customer Advocate to support daily shop operations and customer service activities. This position plays an important role in keeping the shop organized, assisting customers, supporting technicians and service advisors, and ensuring vehicles and parts move efficiently through the repair process.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assist with customer vehicle check-in and check-out procedures.
- Answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Respond to customer text messages and digital communication.
- Conduct customer follow-up calls regarding vehicle repairs and service recommendations.
- Move vehicles safely in and out of the shop as needed.
- Do Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI).
- Verify incoming parts and ensure accuracy of delivered parts.
- Assist with parts returns, credits, and warranty-related communication.
- Maintain inventory organization and assist with inventory tracking.
- Perform parts pickups, and customer support tasks when needed.
- Support technicians, service advisors, and management with daily operational tasks.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
- Previous automotive customer service experience.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with Tekemtric and ShopGenie is a plus.
- Ability to safely operate customer vehicles.
